NEW FOR 2013:
- Mid-level SE (replaces Premium), top-level SE with Navigation Package models added.
- Improved 120-volt charger reduces charge time to 14 hours from empty (was 22 hours).
- Heated front seats added as standard equipment.
Introduced in 2012, the all-electric Mitsubishi i-MiEV gets heated front seats as standard for 2013, along with new SE and SE with Navigation Package trim lines. An improved 120-volt charger reduces charging times, but the 240-volt charger remains unchanged.
The i-MiEV uses a 49-kW motor with a single-speed transmission and lithium-ion battery. Charging takes approximately six hours on 240-volt and 14 hours on 120-volt to 100 per cent capacity; with a DC quick charger, the battery can be charged to 80 per cent capacity in 30 minutes. The charging can be set remotely for time and climate control. On a full charge, the range is approximately 150 km, and the car has a top speed of approximately 130 km/h.
Standard features include 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, three-way charging system, high-voltage cutoff system, battery warmer, acoustic vehicle alerting system for pedestrians, power windows, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain), fog lamps, tire pressure monitoring system, MiEV Remote, power locks, keyless entry, CD/MP3 stereo, LED taillamps, heated mirrors, heated front seats, security alarm and 50/50 split-folding rear seats.
SE trim adds 15-inch alloy wheels, premium seat fabric, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, 360-watt audio, silver cluster accents, and dual vanity mirrors.
SE with Navigation Package adds 40GB HDD navigation system with seven-inch touchscreen, rearview camera, and Bluetooth.
